Digesting a typical American meal consumes not only energy, but also slows the body down.
Combining foods properly can free up energy. This can be anything from eating only fuit until 12 noon,
eating protein with only vegetables or eating starches with only vegetables.
Eating proteins with starchy foods is difficult for the body to digest due to the different enzymes it takes for digestion.
Try an experiment...eat protein with starchy foods (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.) and see how you feel.
This food combination will most likely make you feel tired or lethargic due to the different enzymes required for digestion.
During a different meal, eat protein with vegetables (instead of starches.) This food combination consumes a lot less energy, freeing up energy for you to do other activities. You will most likely notice a difference in how you feel...helping you to feel lighter, more energetic, etc.
