"Ask co-workers (politely) to place holiday "goodies" on the other side of the office. Out of sight out of mind. Tell them you don't want to gain the "Holiday 7..."
The average person gains an average of 7 pounds over the holidays...but there are ways to avoid gaining and just maintain your weight.
Most people that bring in holiday goodies mean well, but there are ways around it. Just remember it's going in your body, not theirs. You can thank them for their thoughtfulness, hopefully they'll understand if you explain nicely, that you are really working to maintain, not gain."
It's a real challenge to lose weight during the holidays with all the temptations, but if you shoot for maintaining your weight instead of gaining, it's a bit more realistic...and it'll be less weight to lose in January!
