REAL BACK STRENGTH

Possible causes of back pain are:
* inactivity
* tight hamstrings
* lack of abdominal muscle strength
* being overweight
* poor posture
* improper lifting
* sleeping on stomach
* injury
* age
* wear and tear over time

According to Timothy Gray, D.O., exercise is the only accurate response to alleviate back pain.  The goal to improve back strength is to strengthen the abdominal and back muscles.  Stretching the back and hamstrings is also important to include in a back strengthening program.

Always make sure you do a warm up of 8-12 minutes before working or stretching the back.

Using a stability ball is a great tool as it forces the core to strengthen itself by holding itself upright.  The greatest benefit of the ball is balance.  It also helps improve postural endurance.  Shoot for 10-12 reps of each back exercise.

The back is the one muscle that is used in ALL daily activities!
So, "back your self up" by strengthening your precious and valuable back!
