The sun is very healing to the body, mind and spirit. We have been brainwashed into believing the sun is harmful, and to not be out in it, unless we are covered in SPF 90 sunscreen!
Did you know that countries that have the highest use of sunscreen, also have the highest rates of skin cancer?
Sunshine is the best form of vitamin D. (Sunscreen blocks the body's ability to create/absorb vitamin D.) Sunshine can help lower blood pressure and cholesterol. Sunshine helps heal some forms of acne and eczema. Disorders such as breast cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis and osteoporosis can also be helped by sunlight.
15-20 minutes of sunshine per day is good for the body to obtain vitamin D. The best time of day to receive sunshine is within the first four hours of sunrise and the last four hours before sunset.
So, remember to let the sunshine in!
